Success story

A lawyer contacted us to evaluate the performance of an accountant who had not detected a fraud by the Controller of a medium-sized business. The fraud involved misstating accounts receivable so that the financial results of the business appeared more profitable.

We concluded that in our opinion the accountant should have detected the fraud had he applied generally accepted standards for review engagements. The case settled without going to trial.
